From all your kind wishes and prayers, I know that many of you are anxious for news of Snoopy, who had cataracts removed from both her eyes, thanks to the generosity of a wonderful team of UK ophthalmologists.

Here’s an update from our vet Faithe in Chengdu. Previously the team thought Snoopy had a blood clot in her right eye. This is the eye in which the ophthalmologists successfully performed a synthetic lens transplant.

Here's what Faithe said yesterday:
“It isn’t so much of a blood clot as it is inflammation. But, yes it’s still there in the whites of the eyes. Unfortunately, I have seen no indication that sight has yet returned. She seems to be relatively comfortable, but wanting to go outside, but this won’t happen until mid-next week.”

Belinda, who is caring for Snoops on a day-to-day basis, too reported yesterday that she could see no obvious behavioural signs that Snoopy could see. But she said Snoopy was generally relaxed and comfortable.

The good news is that Sophie, who can definitely see after her groundbreaking surgery, continues to improve. I’ll be back in Chengdu next week and will post again as soon as we know more. Click here for more on Snoopy and Sophie's surgery.
