Since Sun Li’s event, life has been chaotic but fun — and this past week saw my family and I joining our German Director, Christa Filipowicz, our China External Affairs Director, Toby Zhang, and eminent doctor of Chinese medicine Professor Gao in Zurich for some wonderful events there. 

Long-time friend and supporter Katharina Buttiker (who is also President of the Swiss animal-welfare organisation, Animal Trust) has been so extraordinarily generous to the bears and our projects in China and Vietnam. She and her husband, Gero, could not have been more kind and hospitable during our trip and I’m so pleased to say that Katharina has graciously agreed to be our Ambassador in Switzerland.

Katharina also previously introduced us to Zurich University — and I have no words for a certain surprise that occurred when we returned to the university last weekend. And I think it may very much benefit the bears.
