Buddha Bear Goes Outside
A little over three months after Buddha bear was rescued from an illegal bile farm, she has taken her biggest step - out from her den into to enjoy the sunshine and grass of an open enclosure.

It’s 20 years since Jill first walked onto a bear bile farm
Twenty years ago today, Animals Asia founder Jill Robinson joined a scenic bus tour that would turn her life around – and lead to greater understanding of animal welfare in China and Vietnam. Jill was working undercover in southern China to investigate an unsettling report – that the bus stopped at a farm selling medicinal bear bile that was extracted from bears crammed into tiny cages.

Two cubs rescued in Vietnam, near the Chinese border
Following news that two moon bears cubs had been confiscated in Lai Chau Province in northern Vietnam, an Animals Asia team made the 450km trip from Hanoi arriving late at night. The next morning they met with the Forestry Protection Department to arrange the handover of the two cubs.

Animals Asia says bears must benefit from proposed change to China Wildlife Law
Animals Asia has welcomed a draft proposal to amend China’s Wildlife Protection Law, calling for the proposed legislation to include protection of bears farmed for their bile.
