Two generous donors pledge to DOUBLE all donations to Animals Asia this Giving Tuesday!
28 November 2022
It started out the size of a sesame seed…
By the time our rescue team arrived by Lavender’s side, the tumour in his liver had grown to the size of a bowling ball. We had to operate immediately. As Rachel, the vet who performed the surgery said, “it was a ‘do or die’ situation”.
When we rescued Lavender, he was emaciated, with a mouth full of smashed teeth and abscesses. He had a diseased and blackened gall bladder and that tumour…
… all of this a result of his 20 years trapped in a cramped, barren cage and suffering repeated bile extraction.
It’s for broken bile bears like Lavender that Animals Asia must build a bear hospital at our new sanctuary in Bach Ma as soon as possible.
The 300+ bears who still languish on bile farms will be suffering with a variety of health conditions. When we rescue them they need to be health checked and in many cases, operated on.
From $30 head torches to a $7,000 custom-built bear-sized operating table, the vital hospital equipment your kindness provides for today will be the very same that saves abused bears for many years to come.
The great news is that we have the opportunity to get one step closer to equipping our new life-saving bear hospital. As part of Giving Tuesday, two generous supporters have pledged to match all donations up to the value of $50,000, dollar for dollar.
Don’t miss this incredible chance to make twice the impact for once-abused bears like Lavender.
Together, let’s save the last bile bears in Vietnam.
